Chvrches performed two consecutive shows in Manchester this week.

Scottish electronic trio Chvrches made two appearances at Manchester’s Albert Hall on the 19th and 20th Nov 2015, as part of their biggest U.K. tour to date.

Catching the three-piece at their second show in the city, frontwoman Lauren Mayberry thanked the crowd for spending their Friday night with them.

Lauren said: “Hello! We are called Chvrches! Thanks for coming out to see us on your Friday night.”

Showcasing the best of their recently released second album ‘Every Open Eye’, the group aptly began the evening with album opener ‘Never Ending Circles’.

Not forgetting to include tracks from their Gold-certified debut record ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’, the set continued with the strobe-filled ‘We Sink’, as the spritely singer bounded around the stage to the sounds of the synths.

Effortlessly replicating the two records, with Lauren’s distinctive voice layered over Iain Cook’s and Martin Doherty’s sophisticated synth-pop sounds, the group performed ‘Keep You On My Side’ and ‘Lies’.

The 17-strong set included the clap-along ‘Make Them Gold’, the arm swaying ‘Tether’, the sci-fi stylings of ‘Science/Visions’, and the catchy beat of ‘Gun’.

Between fan favourite ‘Recover’ and lead single ‘Leave A Trace’ the trio also managed to sip three slushies.

Lauren said: “Thank you to the lovely bar staff for these (slushies).”
Pumped up with E-numbers Chvrches ended the main set with ‘Clearest Blue’ as the crowd followed Lauren’s lead in jumping up and down and waving their arms in total abandon.
After a short break, and with encouragement in the form of claps from the crowd, Chvrches returned to the stage to illustrate the atmospheric magic of ‘Afterglow’.
Lauren joked: “Thanks, guys, we had to come back ’cause we forgot our slushies! This is our last song and it’s a more upbeat Friday night-esque one! So enjoy!”
Bringing the pace back and setting everyone up for the weekend Chvrches ended the night with their highest charting single to date ‘The Mother We Share’.
Chvrches tour will continue this evening (21st Nov 2015) in Newcastle. The group will then head up to their native Scotland for dates in Aberdeen and Dundee, before heading to the Midlands for a show in Birmingham.
The tour will culminate with their biggest U.K. show to date, at the 10,000 capacity Alexandra Palace in London on the 27th Nov 2015.
