John Newman is back with the new single ‘Come And Get It’, which is expected to be released on the 17th July 2015.
Soul-pop singer John Newman gives the first taste of his upcoming second album, which is expected to impact later this year.
The upbeat and infectious new tracks is full of that classic John Newman style, which made his debut album ‘Tribute’ such a chart-topping masterpiece.
‘Come And Get It’ comes with an equally slick new video, which following the moody black and white beginning, bursts into full colour, supporting the plot of the troublesome tale.
The track is the introduction to John Newman’s second album, which has the difficult task of following-up his platinum selling debut album ‘Tribute’, which brought the acclaimed hits ‘Cheating’, ‘Losing Sleep’ and ‘Love Me Again’.
In between albums, the singer also featured on Calvin Harris’s chart-topping anthem ‘Blame’.
Speaking recently, John Newman revealed he had been writing with the DJ again: “We started to look at tracks to put together for Rihanna.”
“And then we have booked some time to work on my album. It feels like a Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars kind of thing, where I work with somebody for a long time. I’ve had more time to think and pull it all together on this record. And hopefully, I’ll have more of a presence in America.”
In one of a select few live summer appearances, the Yorkshire-man will headline his first UK festival at Nottingham’s No Tomorrow Festival this weekend. The newly expanded festival will also see Jessie Ware headline.
John Newman will also feature as a special guest at Taylor Swift’s huge British Summer Time Ball at Hyde Park on the 27th June 2015.
He, and the ‘Shake It Off’ star, will also be joined by Ellie Goulding, Vance Joy, Rae Morris, Lauren Aquilina and Sheppard for the one-day event.
With a flurry of European festival scheduled for the summer after that, John Newman returns in late August for Northern Ireland’s Tennants Vital, before the Glasgow Summer Sessions.
