Electric Fields has revealed its first wave of acts for 2016, including headliners Primal Scream.
Scottish feel good group Primal Scream will perform to a home crowd at the festival, which takes place in the picturesque grounds of Drumlanrig Castle.
Topping the bill at the two-day event the ‘Movin’ On Up’ singers will showcase their biggest hits, alongside tracks from their soon to be released 11th album ‘Chaosmosis’, which drops in March 2016.
Electric Fields co-founder Nick Roberts said: “We’re incredibly excited to bring Primal Scream to Electric Fields this August. They have created some of the greatest music these islands have produced and are right at the top of their game. The rest of the line-up compliments the whole nature of the festival brilliantly, and we’re delighted to have this legendary band spearheading it for us.”
The Glaswegian’s will be joined by indietronica group Everything Everything, fellow Scots The Twilight Sad, Island Records signees Model Aeroplanes, and the aural and visual delights of Public Service Broadcasting.
Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s will be curating their own stage at Electric Fields this year with music from seminal electro pioneer Erol Alkan and boundary-morpher Joy Orbison.
The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess will also bring an eclectic variety of acts to the Tim Peaks stage. The first artist to be revealed is actor Paddy Considine’s Riding The Low.
Also, expect real-ale a plenty, secret sets, boutique camping, top-notch cuisine, kids activities, and a ‘Bowie Disco’ at the festival, which takes place from the 26th – 27th Aug 2016.
